SASHA Coalition
The SASHA Coalition brings together companies developing the most sustainable shipping and aviation solutions and facilitates collaboration between ambitious industry leaders and political decision-makers.
What is the SASHA Coalition?
In 2021, the SASHA Coalition was launched to unite companies developing the most sustainable shipping and aviation solutions and facilitate collaboration between ambitious industry leaders and decision-makers in government.
These technologies offer the only credible pathways to reduce the shipping and aviation sectors’ greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement temperature target. They use electricity and renewable hydrogen, and include battery-electric maritime vessels and aircraft, hydrogen fuel cell propulsion systems, and e-fuels.
What does the SASHA Coalition do?
The SASHA Coalition exists to accelerate the maritime and aviation energy transitions.
It does this by uniting the forward-thinking industry leaders in its membership in a powerful collective voice and collaborating with policymakers to devise ambitious and pragmatic policy.
It is only with robust regulatory frameworks that bold innovators like those in the SASHA Coalition will be able to develop and commercialise their technologies, and that the shipping and aviation industries will be able to meet their climate targets.
Aurelia Leeuw, Director of EU Policy at Opportunity Green who leads the coalition says:
“The next generation of shipping and aviation leaders are calling for support to let them roll out the most sustainable shipping and aviation technologies in their sectors, but their voices are not loud enough on their own. These industries need to form one powerful, unified voice on this issue to have greater influence over policy.
“The SASHA Coalition exists to do just this, and works to facilitate policy discussions and provide members with the knowledge, tools, assets and materials they need to make an impact.”
How is the SASHA Coalition run?
The SASHA Coalition is coordinated by Opportunity Green and represents its membership of private sector companies.
