Aviation has significant non-CO2 climate impacts. This report explores three ways in which the non-CO2 impact of aviation could potentially be reduced through the control and monitoring of the aromatics concentration of jet fuels:

  • Amendment to the European Commission’s so-called ReFuelEU Aviation proposal
  • The creation of an EU-wide aviation fuel standard
  • Develop a global standard for aviation fuel or amend an existing standard, set by ASTM and DEF
