“Seeing the SASHA Coalition grow over the past few years has been really exciting – we now have a strong core of members who it has been great to work with, and who I’m really looking forward to continuing our engagement with as we enter into an important period for shipping and aviation’s transition away from fossil fuels.”

Before joining Opportunity Green, Nuala worked as a Policy Adviser in the Scottish government’s Directorate for Energy and Climate Change, specialising in international climate change. In this role, she worked on the Scottish government’s COP26 programme and hydrogen policy. She holds a master’s degree in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh.
As Advocacy Manager at Opportunity Green, Nuala plays a key role in driving forward the SASHA Coalition, with a focus on UK engagement. In practice, this means identifying priority areas for engagement with UK policymakers around cutting emissions from shipping and aviation, drafting policy positions, and putting our positions forward through official consultation processes.
Nuala is our subject-matter expert on UK shipping and aviation decarbonisation policy. She has featured in various media, including Green Air Online, Safety4Sea, the Bunkerspot survey and The Loadstar.
