With Opportunity Green since: February 2023
“As a small, busy comms team, it’s my role to steer the ship by setting the agenda and prioritising our projects – it’s been exciting to see us evolve into a high-performing team that knows how to play to our individual strengths and deliver real impact through our work. It’s always really satisfying when Opportunity Green gets high-profile media coverage, like BBC podcasts, quotes in the Guardian and op-eds in the Financial Times, which is impressive for a young organisation like us, and really helps to grow awareness of the work done by Opportunity Green’s brilliant experts.”

Hannah has worked in communications roles for over 20 years, spanning magazine publishing, websites, agencies, charities and brands, but always focusing on organisations that do good. She launched a new website for consumer watchdog Which?, worked as Digital Marketing Manager tackling plastic pollution for the RAW Foundation, developed integrated comms campaigns for mission brands such as Organix, Wyke Farms and Unilever, and provided comms consultancy for Sustrans, European Environment Foundation and the Charity Finance Group.
Hannah joined Opportunity Green as the first “comms person” and has since built the team up to four people, who support the rest of the organisation delivering comms strategies that strengthen Opportunity Green’s mission and values, and ultimately boost awareness of our work.
It’s Hannah’s role to take a lead in how Opportunity Green is seen to the outside world. Whether that’s the words we say and the way that we say them, the visuals we use or the people who represent us. In practice, that means owning the brand guidelines, tone of voice and editorial guidelines and setting the overall comms strategy so it’s aligned with our wider goals
