Climate law and litigation, strategic legal interventions, EU law, aviation and shipping finance
Sophie develops and implements Opportunity Green’s legal strategy on aviation and shipping finance. In practice, this means identifying legal actions to move financial flows away from conventional aviation and shipping, and towards low-emitting alternative technologies and sectors. Sophie also supports Opportunity Green’s broader legal work to decarbonise the aviation sector and hold it accountable for its role in fueling the climate crisis.
Sophie qualified at the Paris Bar and practised EU and French competition law in Paris. Most recently, Sophie was a Lead Lawyer (Corporate Accountability) at FILE, a legal re-granter supporting climate litigation. She holds an LLM in Global Environment and Climate Change Law from the University of Edinburgh and is passionate about developing innovative legal strategies to mitigate the climate crisis.
