About Em:

Em started their career in grassroots conservation and research in Cameroon and Indonesia before moving on to climate and environment policy roles in the UK for the public and charity sectors. Before joining Opportunity Green, they led the Scottish government’s International Climate Policy team to deliver its £36m Climate Justice Fund. Within that role, Em also led on international advocacy on climate justice, calling for action to address climate-induced loss and damage.

As Senior Director, Climate Diplomacy, Em supports climate vulnerable countries in multilateral negotiations and processes, centring justice and equity in the transition to a net zero world. This support includes providing research, briefings or reviewing negotiation positions as discussions unfold.

Em has also pushed to create powerful coalitions in key sectors, such as the work they’ve done with the Global Solidarity Levies Taskforce to raise revenue through taxing luxury flights. Em has featured widely in the media, including in The Guardian, The Independent, the Financial Times and Politico.
